March Radness is Coming!

What’s up everyone? Ambush is proud to announce that it will be hosting the first contest at the new Kennesaw Skatepark called March Radness. No mushy flat ground game of skate. This is REAL street/pool style skateboarding for your eyes to see. This is your chance to show Ambush what you got and show the City of Kennesaw why it was such a good idea building this park. Don’t wanna compete? It’s free to watch and come hang out with the Ambush crew. There will be tons of talented locals putting on a awesome show!  Big thanks to all the sponsors that help contribute to making this contest happen!

Ambush Mini Riot Presented by Red Bull – Full Recap

Screen Shot 2014-01-27 at 12.52.40 PMPeak retail season is over. The hard work is done and Mazza Mondays are back in full force. There is no better way to start off 2014 than with an awesome mini ramp contest! Early morning yawns and 30 degree weather aren’t enough to stop skateboarders from coming out to compete for $500 bucks! Huge thanks to Red Bull for putting the contest together and Jonah Owings from Hazard County Skatepark  for constructing a flawless mini ramp!

This is how the contest worked: two divisions (Cruisers and Shredders), 32 skaters in each division, 4 man heats with each rider getting two 45 second runs, and the best one advances. Second place winners earned $250 cash and first place winners earned $500 cash! People from all over came out to compete for that big purse money. Huge thanks to all the people and companies that came out to support the contest. This was probably one of my favorite contests that was have hosted so far. Well that’s enough rambling from me. I’ll let the photos do the rest of the talking!

Big congrats to the Cruisers Division winners Matt Hudson (1st) and Chris Colmenero (2nd) and the Shredders Division winners Gage Gum (1st) and Trey Abad a.k.a. CatNip (2nd).

Good Times N Great Oldies – Episode 1

Welcome to the first installment of a new segment called “Good Times N Great Oldies”.  Spend a day out in the streets with the Ambush Board Co team doing what they do best.

Featuring: Dustin Hart, Gary Sargent, Zeke Logan, and Dakota Plumley.

Skate Team Spring Edit

It looks like winter is over, and spring time is here.  Longer days, and more sun means more time out in the streets skating.  Check out this clip of our team doing what they do best, and get psyched to go do the same.

Be sure to come by the shop and hang with the team this Saturday at the Game of Skate.  You might even win some stuff.

Ambush Demo @ Found Skatepark

Friday August 31st the Ambush team headed up north to Found Skatepark to show off the goods and give away some goodies. This was the first time up there for most of us and I have to say that the park is pretty damn sweet. The guys over at Found made good use of a smaller sized space and the park flows like butter. I know the Found is pretty far from home for you local Ambush dudes, but we saw a few familiar faces up there (which is awesome) and met a whole bunch of new rad kids as well. Hopefully, this video will hype some of you to drive up to Ellijay and give it a whirl.

Big thanks to Mike and the whole Found crew for having us, and an even bigger thanks to all the kids and families who showed up in support. Hope you guys had as much fun as we did!

Ambush Demo at Found Skatepark

Most of our team riders have been out killing themselves trying to wrap up their parts for the SEC III video.  This can be pretty stressful on the body and mind.  So to blow off some steam, we decided to put on a demo where you can get a small taste of what’s to come in the video.

The demo is going down August 31st at Found Skatepark in Elijay, GA.  We’re getting the whole team together for a day of skating, giveaways, and good times.  Come hang out and watch these dudes do what they do best.  Featuring: Josh Butler, Gary Sargent, Dustin Hart, Jordan Smith, Stormy Pruett, Zeke Logan, Trey Abad and Travis Glover.  It all starts at 6:00 pm, Found Skatepark 12 Hefener St #113, East Elijay, Ga 30540.

Go Skateboarding Day 2012

Every June 21st, skateboarders around the world celebrate national Go Skateboarding Day. While most skaters try to skate every day they can, Go Skateboarding Day is an excuse for skaters to get together in large numbers and celebrate the one thing that brings them all together, skateboarding.

For our celebration, we were lucky enough to be joined by the Ambig Clothing team, including Matt Bennett, Sean Conover and Clint Walker.  The guys came by the shop to hang out, sign some autographs, and most importantly to skate and have a good time with all the kids.

Big thanks to the Ambig crew for coming out, and thanks to all of you who skated with us.  Celebrate skateboarding everyday.  Check the video below for a recap of the day.

Park Barge 2012

Obviously there is a ton of people in Kennesaw that skate. We wouldn’t be here without them.  Unfortunately, there really isn’t much around here to skate.  So, we were all talking one day and decided, “Hey, lets pick a few skate rats, throw em in the van, and take them out skating with the team all day.”  So, on June 1st we made it happen.

The homies at Neff to kicked down some goodies for the winners, we loaded up the van with snacks and seats, dragged the team out of bed early, picked 8 dudes to come along for the ride, and hit the road.

Our goal was to warm up at Brook Run Skatepark in Dunwoody, then head towards Gwinnett to check out all their parks.

On the way to Gwinnett, we got rained out. We asked our good friend Mike DeLuca if we could skate Progressive for the rest of the day.  Mike was down and everyone was hyped again.

Good looks, Mike.  Everyone had a blast skating all day.  We hope to do another one soon, hopefully with better weather.  Thanks again to Neff, Mike at Progressive, the Ambush team for comin’ out, and most of all all the kids who shredded with us.  Check out the video below to see what went down.
