Emerica Wino G6 Skate Shoe Video with Dakota Plumley

It’s not too often we see a new design or revamped skate shoe that gets us truly excited.  Emerica holds skateboarding at its core and they have arguably produced some of the most classic skate shoes to date.  Well it looks like they have gone and done it again with the new Wino G6 model.  The Wino has been updated with the G6 impact resistant polyurethane insole and features a double wrapped vulcanized sole, a single piece toe cap, padded tuff collar, and signature triangle tread. A real winner!

Snowboard Helmets Are Officially Official

It wasn’t that long ago that, if you saw someone on the mountain riding in a snowboard helmet, you quickly judged them as a newbie or a kook.  Not even five years ago helmet design wasn’t the most cutting edge.  Snowboard helmets were often bulky and heavy to the point they were uncomfortable and would even throw off your equilibrium.  They would even reduce your peripheral vision and make it so that you couldn’t fully hear all that was going on around you.  It’s the one piece of equipment that has truly changed for the better.  Our very own Eric Elliott, who runs the show here and had been riding without a helmet for years recently got a Smith Gage and had this to say about his first helmet: Read More >

2017 Snowboard Setups with the Nicks

New Year, New Gear…right?  We seriously hate that saying, but there is something about getting a new snowboard setup in the New Year that has us feeling a certain type of way.   Nick Gaddy and Nick Mertes are OG Ambush dudes.  Our homeboy Cole Vanthof set off to Utah to catch up with these dudes to see what they are rocking for this 2016/2017 snowboard season.  These guys are characters no doubt, but their riding style is legit.  Watch these two product videos and peep the gear links and make a wise purchase this year.

We really want to thank the crew at Burton, CAPiTA, and Union for dialing in our friends this season, and we are really stoked to help spread snowboarding to more people every year.  If these snowboard products didn’t appeal to you, which we would find hard to believe, but you’re interested in seeing the other badass snowboarding brands we carry, hit our snowboarding page and tickle your eyeballs and hopefully your souls. Ambush Skate Team: Milledgeville Video

Ambush Skate Team does Milledgeville

After an hour and a half of riding in the van, and Dakota and Wes trailing behind us in the Mazda (D had to leave early on Sunday. He has a job), we opened the doors at a DIY skate spot in Milledgeville. We were so graciously greeted by a small amount of rain. A lil drip drip. Everyone was hyped to get out of the van and stretch their sea legs that no one minded a little wet pavement. Time went by and redundancy set in as the DIY wasn’t too big and spot searching became more prevalent in everyone’s mind.

There is this chilly spot in a church parking lot by where our good buddy Dave used to live. It’s a concrete car ramp that runs from parking lot to parking lot with a small embankment on either side. It also has parking blocks bolted in the ground at just the right place (You’ll see it in the edit). It was a fun little spot until some dude came up and started asking us questions. He was sketchy, and we thought he was trying to steal our stuff out of the van, so we packed it up and left. Read More >

Alex Graydon Video: ALa-Cruzin

ALa-Cruzin Video

We are stoked to announce a new video, Ala-Cruzin, filmed by our team rider and residential videographer, Cole Vanthof.  Cole has been busting his ass this summer filming a ton of great content and two special projects, this being the first one we are dropping.  We sat down with Cole and talked a bit about this project he did with our Alex Graydon in his great home state of Alabama.  Alex has been killing it for years and his world travels have helped to mold his style into something truly unique.  After you read this short interview, make sure you checkout the photos that Jeff Mathis did from the filming process.  So stoked!

Where did the idea of doing a video with Alex Graydon come from?  What would you say is the main theme for this video? Read More >

The Coalition Vol. 2: Ambush Riders and Friends

Wakeboarding on a whole new level!

Our good friend and team rider, Wesley Mark Jacobsen, not only filmed this, but is one of the handful of riders shredding Valdosta Wake Compound to pieces.  You are going to need to set aside 12 minutes of your day and watch this three times in a row!  Once it hit Alliance Wake the internet was briefly shut down, but thankfully it’s back up and running for your pleasure.  This is some heavy wakeboarding.  100%!

Riders: Quinn Silvernale (Ambush/BuyWake Team Rider), WMJ (Ambush/BuyWake Team Rider), Terry Bailey, Blake Bishop (Ambush/BuyWake Team Rider), Justin Lee (Ambush/BuyWake Team Rider), Nick Gaddy (Ambush/BuyWake Team Rider), Nick Mertes (Ambush/BuyWake Team Rider), Cole Vanthof (Ambush/BuyWake Team Rider), Wes Huber, Crosse Bearden, Cody Oxford, and Jefferson Mathis. Ambush Crew Wakesurf Review

A few of us decided to grab some of the industry leading surfers and give you a little inside look and share our thoughts.  Our main goal is obvious…we just want to ride behind our Nautique Boats G21 w/ NSS as much as humanly possible every week.  We loaded the boat full of boards from Hyperlite, Slingshot, Ronix, Liquid Force, Byerly, and Inland Surfer.  We even have a little sneak peak with a 2016 Slingshot that you’re sure to love!

2015 Hyperlite Hi-Fi – Billy

Billy HiFi

This was my first time riding one of Hyperlite’s Dura-Shell construction boards.  The Dura-Shell construction really adds some needed durability to the surfer and also sheds a TON of weight off the board.A few things I noticed when picking up the board for the first time was the overall weight.  Sucker is LIGHT.  I also really liked that the board had a hard edge profile that ran tip to tail.  For a skim-style board, this is essential since this style of board is typically pretty loose on the water.  Finally, the fins.  This surfer does not come with a traditional surf (fish-shaped) fin, instead it comes with 3 – 0.8” P-Wings that provide just enough grip while allowing you to free up the board easily for spins and shuv’s.
